Freedom CAN-Bus gauges run off your vehicles OBDII system using the CAN (J1979) protocol. These gauges can only be used on 2008 and newer vehicles (All vehicles 2008 and newer are required to be compatible with the CAN (J1979) protocol). Freedom CAN-Bus gauges CANNOT be connected to a sender or anything that sends a raw signal.
There are two options for connecting the Freedom Gauges to the OBDII system: Plug the gauges directly into the vehicle's 16-pin OBDII Data Link Connector - OR - If needed you can easily 'hard wire' into CAN high and low data lines to free up the OBDII port.
